EACC Seizes Properties and Cash from Former Nairobi CFO Jimmy Kiamba in Corruption Case.The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has successfully seized properties and cash worth hundreds of millions of Kenyan Shillings from former Nairobi County Chief Finance Officer Jimmy Kiamba and his wife. The Court of Appeal ruled in favor of the EACC, mandating the forfeiture of these assets, which were determined to be proceeds of corruption. This includes multiple properties and over Ksh400 million found in Kiamba’s bank accounts, despite his modest official salary. Kiamba and several former City Hall officers were also sentenced to lengthy jail terms for defrauding the city government.Mr. Kiamba claims that he acquired the houses between 2009 and 2013. A claim the court of appeal refuted.
Former Nairobi County Chief Finance Officer Jimmy Kiamba recently faced significant legal setbacks. The Court of Appeal ordered Kiamba and his wife, Tracy Mbinya, to forfeit over Ksh 113 million to the government, following an investigation by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) that revealed unexplained assets amounting to over Ksh 1 billion (Nation) (The Standard).

The Supreme Court Allows EACC To Seize Ex-Nairobi County Official’s Properties Worth Ksh 614 million, wealth believed to be as a result of corruption, during Governor Evans Kidero’s tenure. The vast wealth which includes multiple properties and over Ksh400 million found in Kiamba’s bank accounts, despite his modest ksh.85,000 salary. Kiamba and several former City Hall officers were also sentenced to lengthy jail terms for defrauding the city government.
Kiamba and his wife Tracy claims that they acquired their properties between 2009 and 2013 were rubbished by Court of appeal justices Imaana Laibuta, Abida Ali-Aroni and John Mativo on February 9th 2024, as reports show they acquired their first property on October 27,2010 for 14million, second and third property on May 10,2012 for 15 and 15.5 million respectively and Skyrock on August 17th 2012 for a whopping 25million. all these records go to show that he acquired the properties after prior said date and they consequentially put him in the timeline of his time in office, which was the period he was said to defraud the city. Both Kiamba and his wife disagreed with the verdict and appealed the court of appeals decision and took it to the supreme court who also ruled in the EACC’s favor and gave them the go ahead to seize the appellant’s properties.



The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has seized several assets from Jimmy Kiamba, the former Nairobi County Chief Finance Officer, due to allegations of corruption and unexplained wealth. The assets seized include:
Properties such as; Skyrock Apartments, Unit 11Multiple apartments on Pritt Lane a maisonette in South C. Various parcels of land, including L.R. No. 7785/605 and L.R. No. 7785/818. Cash totaling Ksh114 million held in multiple bank accounts e.g CFC Stanbic bank,Equity, Standard Chattered Bank and Gulf of Africa. They also seized several high-end vehicles that he and his spouse possesed.
