“LeBron’s Ultimate Assist : Passing the Throne to an Unready Bronny”

Bronny James has declared to be part of the 2024 draft class, despite rumors and observations critiques and fans alike, about his game not being developed enough as per NBA standards by sighting not only inconsistencies but also flaws in many areas of his game, he is yet to polish. Besides being part of a surprisingly poorly performing USC team, Bronny James seems to be just a role player of the bench, with below average stats of 4.8pts, 2.8reb,2.1ast, while shooting only (36%FG% ,27.5%3P% and 62%FT). But in all fairness to Bronny, he is still just a freshman who joined the USC team on May 6th 2023,to top it all off he had a congenital heart failure on July 24th after collapsing during practice with his teammates. This might be considered as to why he is slowing down, since he might be taking precautions on how he handles himself in order to avoid another probable attack that might not only destroy his career but cost him his life.

Most critics and analyst are debating on LeBron’s decision to subtly manipulate teams, when he issued a statement through his agent Rich Paul, that he might play for any team that will draft his son Bronny James, a move that gives his son an upper hand as compared to other more talented and deserving prospects that have declared for the 2024 draft, since any team would want Lebron James in his roaster, for a number of obvious reasons  that mostly rely on him being one of the faces if the NBA.

ESPN – LeBron James says playing on the same court as his son would be his biggest achievement

Lebron James has expressed his desire to play alongside his son since he was a kid but despite him being arguably the greatest player of all time, there is no doubt that he is getting to his retirement age hence his determination to ensure his son is drafted as early as possible. Despite the “King” not showing any signs of slowing down, as he is still dominating the league and shattering records e.g. when he broke Kareem’s longstanding record of most career high points of 38,387, by reaching 38,388 in a game against the OKC Thunder on March 4th, there are a lot of unforeseen problems that come with aging, that even the King himself can’t avoid. There is no doubt that Bronny is a descent player, and has commendable skills and high iq in the game but his ineptitude shows that he is still not NBA worthy and should take at least one more year of college ball at USC before declaring for the draft, instead of capitalizing on the power and role his father plays in the league.

In spite of Lebron James involvement and need to shape his son in his image, it’s time to admit that Bronny isn’t heir to the throne as he seems not to have the potential to reach that of his father during his age as he managed to live up to the title he was given “the chosen one” as he teared up the league and became a legend, but like every legend of not only basketball but each field, none has managed their children to match their immortality, and they shouldn’t pressure them into doing so. Therefore, Bronny should step out of his father’s shadow or else he will forever be known as the “Kings” son who was never worthy to take the crown.
