Kendrick Lamar is breaking all sorts of records with his most recent diss “Not like us”, which is part of Kendrick’s retaliation to Drakes recurrent jabs, that were consequently instigated by Metro Booming’s Lamar’s – “Like that” which featured both Future and Lamar, who made shots at him and might be considered to have started this feud, between not only Drake and Kendrick but also a couple of known rappers who lashed at drake around the period of the tracks release. Kendrick, made jabs at Drake and Kendrick’s certified hit First Person Shooter which was released as part of Drake’s eighth studio album, For All the Dogs. This song was a significant hit, debuting at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 showcasing both the rapper’s lyrical prowess. Kendrick dismisses the concept of the “Big Three” in rap, which commonly refers to himself, Drake, and J. Cole. Instead, he asserts his own dominance, suggesting that he’s the only one who matters. He also added jabs like “Prince outlived Mike Jack”, which alludes that he is Prince to Drakes Michael Jackson, and will probably outlive him like Prince did. This seems to be the factors that angered both J. Cole who released but later on deleted a response to Kendrick, and Drakes own series of tracks taking shots at Kendrick in Push Ups (April 13th) and Taylor made freestyle (April 19th). This marked the genesis of a series of responses from both the rappers going back-to-back at each other, to the point that they went too far and got personal by attacking each other’s families and personal lives, even revealing “alleged” dark histories about each other.

But despite drakes tenacity, Kendrick seems to be having the last laugh since his last diss towards Drake “Not like us” released on May 4th ,may not only be considered to impact drakes career but put him under investigations after Kendrick accusing him of being a pea**phile, likening him to people in the industry accused of the same like producer and owner of Bad boy records P.Diddy, who is still under a number of investigation of a number of charges filed at him on April 17th 2024. Moreover, the song seems to be breaking all kinds of records with just a few weeks after its release.

The following are some of the records the track has produced within a span of just three weeks:
Fastest Rap Song to Surpass 100 million Streams: Within just nine days of its release, “Not Like Us” surged past 100 million streams on major streaming platforms.
Most Single-Day Streams for a Rap Song in the US: The diss track gained massive traction across social media upon its surprise release on May 4, amassing over 13 million streams within 24 hours. Talk about making an impact!
Most Song Streams in a Week for Any Rapper: In its debut week, “Not Like Us” garnered over 81 million streams, making Kendrick Lamar the only rapper in history to achieve this milestone. Impressive numbers, no doubt.
First Rap Song to Go No. 1 with a 5-Day Charting Week: Billboard’s Hot 100 updates every Friday, considering sales from Friday to Thursday. Since “Not Like Us” dropped on a Saturday, it became the only hip-hop song to reach No. 1 with a shortened tracking week.
Strongest Solo Rap Song to Chart on Billboard in the 2020s: Amidst the dominance of K-pop and alternate music in the 2020s, Kendrick Lamar’s track stood out as the strongest solo hip-hop song to chart on Billboard in the past four years.
Although Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” brewed out of his beef with Drizzy, it surely has left its mark, and is and might continue making history in not only the hip-hop world but the entire industry and will cement him as one of the greatest rappers of the century and even outliving Drizzy.
