Malava MP Moses Malulu Injendi Passes Away, Nation in Mourning

The country is in mourning following the passing of Malava Constituency Member of Parliament, Hon. Moses Malulu Injendi. The legislator passed away on Monday while undergoing treatment at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi.

The Clerk of the National Assembly confirmed the news but had yet to issue an official statement by press time. Malulu, who was serving his third consecutive term as Malava MP since 2013, was also the Vice Chairman of the Departmental Committee on Education and Research.

A dedicated and passionate leader, Injendi was known for his unwavering commitment to serving his constituents with integrity. His passing has been met with an outpouring of grief from fellow lawmakers, leaders across the political spectrum, and residents of Malava Constituency.

Saboti MP Caleb Amisi expressed his condolences, remembering Injendi as a respected colleague. “Mhesh has rested. Go well, Malulu. My condolences to the family and his constituents,” he stated.

ODM Director of Communications, Philip Etale, also paid tribute, tweeting, “Hon. Injendi Malulu, a cool man. It is well.”

National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah mourned Injendi as both a colleague and a friend. “It is with heartfelt sympathy that we mourn a colleague and friend, Hon. Moses Malulu Injendi. His dedication to serving Malava and his unwavering commitment to uplifting his constituents were an inspiration to all who had the privilege of working alongside him in Parliament,” Ichung’wah said.

“I was honored to serve with him and will always remember his passion, integrity, and tireless advocacy for the people. His legacy will continue to resonate in the hearts of those he touched. During this difficult time, my deepest condolences go to his family, loved ones, and the entire Malava community. May they find strength in the memories of his remarkable life and service.”

Hon. Malulu’s demise leaves a significant void in Malava Constituency and in the National Assembly, where he played a crucial role in shaping education policies and advocating for his constituents. Funeral arrangements and further official communication from the family and parliamentary leadership are expected in the coming days.
