Westlands Member of Parliament Tim Wanyonyi has awarded scholarships to 17 bright but needy students from various secondary schools and institutions of higher learning.
The scholarship given through the MP’s friends and partners will cater for full year fees for each of the 17 students.
Addressing the parents and students who have benefited from the scholarship, Westlands Member of Parliament Tim Wanyonyi said the program aims at supplementing NG-CDF by helping the needy but bright students whose parents cannot afford to pay fees.
“This cheques I have been given by my friends who are pleased with the work we do and have told me that they are willing to assist us. Such people who are selfless in as much you can not see their faces, always pray for them,” Wanyonyi said.
Wanyonyi challenged the students to utilise the education scholarship privilege to work hard to advance their future careers.
“I want you students to embark on serious studies so that it can be a ticket to advance your livelihoods in the future,” Wanyonyi says.
The vocal legislator also called upon the students to be flexible to fit into the Kenyan market.

“Nowadays the white collar jobs are few. Be open minded to take up various jobs. Those jobs will open further opportunities for you,” Wanyonyi added.
In March this year the legislator had issued cheques to 45 students that catered for a whole year’s education sponsorship through the Tim Wanyonyi Foundation.
Mr Wanyonyi who is highly acknowledged for his relentless efforts to improve education outcomes has sponsored more than 2000 beneficiaries through his foundation. He has also impacted thousands who have been facilitated through the Westlands NG-CDF.
