“I Will Be Your Servant And You Will Be My Bosses,” Joachim Mugira Karanja Tells Ndia Constituents

By Paul Brian

African leaders have always adopted the bossy style of leadership. They always want to be worshiped like gods, feared like kings and queens and be praised like angels. They forget that electorates are their employers, they serve their own stomachs and not those of the voters and enslave electorates.

Embu youthful politician, Joachim Mugira has however vowed to change this narrative as he promised Ndia Constituency electorates that when elected in 2022 he will be their servant and not their boss.

Mugira who was born in Tumutumu in Kiranyaga county and attended the Kagumo High school and Nyeri High school both in Nyeri before joining Kenya Institute of Management to pursue Business Administration, has affirmed that his priority will be to serve the constituents of Ndia when voted in. He said leadership is all about service delivery and that will be his priority. He believes that his rewards in life is in direct proportion to the value of his service to others and he would rather be rewarded due to his service rather than rewarding himself.

The vibrant and resilient politician rose from a humble beginning and is now a real-estate player said that his early life struggles taught him to work hard and he is not vying for the Ndia parliamentary seat to be rich since he has fought hard and acquired what is satisfactory to him. He therefore attested that he will ensure accountability, equity and efficiency when it comes to utilization of the resources. Mugira says he has invested enough and he can finance any political position without using illegal means to acquire funds.

Mugira is also known to be a diehard Mudavadi’s supporter. He has gone further to popularize Mudavadi in the region by opening several ANC Party offices in the region and also recruiting youths to join the party. He has also occasionally hosted Mudavadi in the region.

Joachim is a such an irrepressible leader and his buoyant nature has made him have issues with some few colleagues (Ramoya Kanoti and Simeon Gikuru) whom he says are chest thumpers and has no clear vision for the party. He says he will remain tough and hardy to anyone who doesn’t mean well to the party regardless of their position in the party.

Mugira also promised to support Wangui Ngirici for Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat. He said that Wangui is a brilliant leader with Kirinyaga people at heart, he further described Wangui as an individual with great ambition for Kirinyaga county and will ensure the lives of Kirinyaga people is massively improved when elected unlike Senator Kibiru who is eyeing for the same seat whom he termed as a weak and lacks vision for Kirinyaga people.

He further assured Ndia residents that his wish is to have a constituency with better infrastructure, good health facilities, good education centres, modern market and improved agriculture system. He also committed himself to support youths by nurturing their talents and rewarding their potentials. He urged youths not accept to be used as political tools instead fight for their places in leadership and work with leaders who mean good to them. Leaders with great vision in providing long time solutions to their problems and not short term solutions of handouts.
