Kenyan police have launched an investigation into the murder of LGBTQ activist and model Edwin Chiloba.
Chiloba’s body was found in a metallic box along the Kipenyo-Kaptinga road in Kapsaret, Uasin Gishu.
A Bodaboda rider reported seeing a numberless vehicle drop the box in the area. Police officers at a nearby roadblock rushed to the scene and upon opening the box, found the decomposing body of Chiloba, who was dressed in women’s clothing.
The cause of death is currently unknown and the motive for the murder remains unclear.
Chiloba was a well-known LGBTQ advocate and model in the area and his body has been taken to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
