MP WANYONYI STANDS BY FIRE VICTIMS IN KITISURU AND MT VIEW

Westlands lawmaker Tim Wanyonyi in a prompt move distributed relief among the victims of fire that ravaged Kibagare Slums and Gichagi areas in Kitisuru and Mountain View ward respectively.

At least 107 families each received blankets, food items and essential household items at Kitisuru Chief’s Camp and Gichagi.

Speaking during the distribution of the relief aid, the Westlands Constituency Manager Mr Ben Mwonyonyo expressed the MP’s sympathies with the fire victims on the loss of their property.

“Hon Tim passes his sympathies on the loss of your property given it was an accident . He further thanks God that no one lost their life in the inferno. He has offered to share the little he has to help you navigate this challenging times,” said Mwonyonyo.

On Feb 16, 2023 a devastating fire broke out in Kibagare Slums consequently displacing 65 families. The county fire response team were prompt and prevented further spread of the inferno. The cause of the fire is yet to be established.

Notably, five individuals who were injured during the incident were hospitalised ,treated and discharged. The area MP Tim Wanyonyi paid off their hospital bills.

Meanwhile on March 8, 2023, a terrible fire broke out at one of the densely populated plots in Gichagi, Mountain View. 42 houses were burnt down to ashes leaving the families homeless. The blaze in the Gichagi area on Wednesday evening aggravated after LPG cylinders exploded.
