The Jubilee Party is experiencing a huge political instability. The Deputy President, Dr. William Ruto and his allies camped Jubilee Offices on Thursday, where they held a lengthy meeting. Ruto, the deputy party leader visited the offices, a few hours after the President left the country for France. His political foes have described it as an attempted coup.
Tangatanga rift, which supports Ruto have been complaining about Jubilee party sidelining them. They therefore wanted the party to honor them and involve them in its acts.
The Senator for Meru, Mithika Linturi, speaking to the press said that Jubilee Party is theirs, therefore they had every right to hold that meeting. Linturi dismissed the coup allegations, stating that there was nothing wrong with that meeting. Other members who were also present and gave speeches include Alice Wahome.
Attempted Coup
Ruto has also dismissed the attempted coup allegations, saying that he just visited the offices in good faith.

However, the party’s vice chair David Murathe has termed the act as an attempted coup. Murathe noted that it was cowardly for the DP to wait for the president to leave the country so he could have his move.

In other news, Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has declared that he shall not support any other politician in their bid to presidency in 2022. Kalonzo has declared interests in vying for the Presidency himself. Previously, he had rallied with Raila as his running mate in 2013 and 2017 but both lost. He says that now is his time to run for the presidency.
