Westlands MP Issues KES 7 Million Bursary to College Students

Westlands NG-CDF has disbursed over KES 7 Million to needy and vulnerable college and university students in the constituency.

The money has been distributed to 700 students with 140 being drawn from each of the five wards of Kangemi, Mountain View, Kitisuru, Karura and Parklands.

While distributing the cheques at the NG-CDF offices in Kyuna on Tuesday, April 11, area MP Tim Wanyonyi decried the late disbursements as occasioned by delays by the national treasury in releasing money meant for NG-CDF.

Further, he urged his constituents to pray for the country so that dialogue can set the country in the correct path.

“We have come to give this cheques. After the elections, they said their is no money. As MPs we said without NG-CDF then we will not work. They restored it. We are thankful. We are issuing college bursaries and will soon distribute the secondary ones so that our children go to school,” Wanyonyi said.

He urged the students to work hard given they were among the lucky ones to get the bursaries.
