AFC Leopards, accompanied by officials and players, engaged in various activities at the children’s home. From planting trees to dancing joyously with the children, the day culminated in a delightful cake-cutting ceremony shared with the young souls. Moreover, the club extended their benevolence by donating essential food supplies, ensuring sustenance for the home for over a month.
This marks the beginning of a week-long jubilation for the football club, as they gear up to honor their six-decade legacy. AFC Leopards’ agenda includes visits to two other children’s homes in Makadara and Dagoretti, alongside a significant visit to Shauri Moyo, the birthplace of the club’s founder, Israel Motoka. The pinnacle of the celebrations is anticipated to be a friendly match against Spanish fourth-tier side AE Ramassa on March 24.
The festivity lineup extends beyond friendly matches. Preceding the encounter with AE Ramassa, AFC Leopards plan to engage Gor Mahia Legends in a memorable contest. Albert Wesonga, the CEO of AFC Leopards, emphasized the importance of the celebrations, highlighting various events such as ceremonial cake-cutting ceremonies, communal dinners, and engagements with community leaders.
“On March 12, we will cut the cake in a ceremony that welcomes our fans and celebrates our heritage. We are also organizing a dinner at the Maa Hotel in Nairobi with Luhya leaders on March 22 to honor our roots and traditions,” stated Wesonga.
