Westlands Member of Parliament Tim Wanyonyi has put land grabbers on notice and warned of dire consequences against perpetrators.
Those with insatiable appetite for public lands will have no space to touch any property in Westlands Constituency, he has warned.
Mr Wanyonyi has threatened to take stern legal action against any person or entity eyeing public property, especially school land.
In a stern warning on Friday, November 11, the MP said he will not hesitate to take legal action against any individual salivating at any piece of land in the constituency.
“We shall spare no legal effort in dealing with these menace ins westlands constituency. No public land will be grabbed. No citizen will be denied access to ther rightfully acquired property. Justice must prevail,” he warned.
He condemned a recent incident where an auctioneer demolished a house of a resident citing a court order only to be found to be a fake one.
Also, he cited another tussle at Bohra Primary School where some individuals are claiming ownership to the institution’s land.
He revealed that cartels salivating at the property had presented unverified documents claiming ownership to authorities but had been unable to present any valid court order.
“We wish to condemn in the strongest terms possible these acts of impunity,” he added.
The MP has also condemned acts of lawlessness being witnessed across the city especially daytime muggings and robbery.
In Westlands, he cited the area around N’Market urging security agencies to move with speed and contain the vice before more lives and property are lost.
“We call upon our security forces to work round the clock to mitigate against crime. We shall not sit back as we lose the innocent lives of our citizens,” he said.
According to him, close collaboration among the National, County government, security agencies, and other key stakeholders, the vice can be put to a stop.
