Kitisuru Residents Prioritize Schools and Security in NG-CDF Forum
NAIROBI – Residents and stakeholders in Kitisuru Ward have identified education, security, and public service delivery as their top development priorities during the Westlands NG-CDF Public Participation Forum for the 2026/2027 and 2027/2028 Financial Years.
The forum took place at the Westlands NG-CDF Offices in Loresho. It brought together residents, school stakeholders, administrators, and community leaders to submit project proposals for consideration under the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF).
Education Takes Centre Stage
Education attracted the highest number of proposals during the forum.
Stakeholders from Loresho Secondary School requested a school bus, construction of a perimeter wall, refurbishment of the existing computer laboratory, purchase of additional computers, and equipping of the Home Science laboratory to improve practical learning.
At Loresho Primary School, stakeholders proposed the construction of nine additional classrooms to address the growing enrolment.
Stakeholders from Lower Kabete Primary School identified key priorities, including the construction of eight classrooms, improvement of the school’s drainage system, and the acquisition of a school bus to enhance learners’ safety and accessibility.
Representatives from Farasi Lane Primary School proposed improvements to the drainage system and the construction of a perimeter wall to provide a safer learning environment. At Farasi Lane Secondary School, stakeholders prioritized the establishment and equipping of a modern computer laboratory to strengthen digital learning.
Stakeholders from Kabete Vet Lab Primary School requested the construction of a perimeter wall and 20 pit latrines to improve sanitation and security. Meanwhile, stakeholders from Kabete Vet Lab Secondary School proposed the construction of an administration block and a perimeter wall to improve school management and enhance security.
Security and Public Administration
The forum also highlighted the need to strengthen public administration and security services within the ward.
Stakeholders proposed a facelift and provision of modern office equipment for the Kitisuru Chief’s Office to improve service delivery.
They also requested the construction of an administration block and additional staff quarters at Loresho Police Station, saying the projects would improve the working environment for officers and enhance security within the ward.
Final Public Participation Forum
The Kitisuru meeting formed part of the ongoing Westlands NG-CDF public participation exercise, which gives residents and stakeholders an opportunity to identify and prioritize development projects for the 2026/2027 and 2027/2028 Financial Years.
The exercise will conclude tomorrow, Thursday, 23rd July 2026, with the final public participation forum for Kangemi and Mt. View wards at Kabete National Polytechnic Hall, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to attend and submit their development proposals.
Once the ward forums are complete, the Westlands NG-CDF Committee will review all proposals received from across the constituency. Eligible projects will then be considered for inclusion in the constituency’s development plans for the two financial years.
The public participation forums continue to demonstrate the important role that residents and stakeholders play in ensuring NG-CDF projects respond to the needs and aspirations of communities across Westlands Constituency.
