FKF Nairobi West Gala 2026 Celebrates Season’s Best
The FKF Nairobi West Branch celebrated its top teams, players, coaches and match officials during the FKF Nairobi West Gala 2026 at Nairobi Chapel on Friday, August 21.
The gala brought together the football fraternity to celebrate achievements across the Sub-County, County and Regional leagues. The event also put youth and women’s football in the spotlight.
Kibagare Slums FC, Valeo Football, Baltimore, Thundercats and Aston Roma led the list of teams that collected championship honours.
In addition, the branch celebrated Sub-County League champions from Dagoretti, Lang’ata, Westlands and Starehe.
Sub-County champions take centre stage
Four teams collected trophies after topping their respective Sub-Branches.
Shicheonji FC claimed the Dagoretti Sub-Branch title, while CF Vilanova emerged champions in Lang’ata.
In Westlands, Vision Sports took the championship. Meanwhile, Ulinzi Youth topped the Starehe Sub-Branch.
The four champions demonstrated the strength of grassroots football across the FKF Nairobi West Branch.
Aston Roma lead youth football awards
Aston Roma took the top prize in the youth football category after finishing as champions.
KESA claimed the first runners-up position, while Ligi Ndogo finished third. Nairobi United Youth also earned the Most Organised Team award.
Several youngsters collected individual honours for their performances during the competition.
Keith Owino of KESA took the Most Valuable Player award, while Denzel of Pro-Touch earned the Young MVP honour.
Three players shared the Top Scorer award. They were Issa Haron of Ligi Ndogo, Denzel of Pro-Touch and Arnold of Aston Roma.
Aston Roma coach Rama took the Best Coach award. In addition, KESA received the Fair Play Award.
The youth category also included the Girl of the Tournament and Golden Glove awards. The gala further recognised achievement in an inclusive football category.
Thundercats rule Women County League
Thundercats celebrated a successful campaign by taking the FKF Nairobi West Women County League championship.
Azidi finished second, while Kuwinda Queens secured third place.
Thundercats also enjoyed success in the individual categories.
Grace Wambui claimed the Most Valuable Player award. Her coach, Martha Mumbua, took the Best Coach honour.
Meanwhile, Catherine Njeri of Azidi finished the campaign as the league’s top scorer.
Baltimore celebrate Men County League crown
Baltimore took home the Men’s County League championship after an impressive season.
Santos Soka SA finished second, while Steplink FA secured third place.
Baltimore also claimed two major individual awards.
Giggs Kamau took the MVP honour, while Samuel Aremo earned the Best Coach award.
Meanwhile, Wisdom Obinna of Mathare All Stars finished as the league’s top scorer.
Valeo dominate Women Regional League awards
Valeo Football enjoyed one of the most successful nights at the FKF Nairobi West Gala 2026 after claiming the Women Regional League championship.
NYS Queens took second place, while Kibagare Girls finished third.
Valeo players and technical staff also collected three major individual honours.
Goalkeeper Esther Musau claimed the Golden Glove award. Meanwhile, Pauline Mango earned the Best Coach honour.
Furthermore, Valary Akoko took the league’s Most Valuable Player award.
However, Amna Abbas of City Inspectorate Lionesses claimed the Top Scorer award.
Kibagare Slums FC claim Regional League crown
Kibagare Slums FC capped their campaign by taking the Men Regional League championship.
AFC Leopards Youth finished second, while Bomas FC Kenya secured third place.
Kibagare Slums coach Johnstone Etale also earned recognition after guiding his side to the title. Etale took home the Best Coach award.
AFC Leopards Youth, however, claimed two major individual honours.
Goalkeeper Kevin Wekesa took the Golden Glove award, while teammate Blessed Mark claimed the league’s MVP honour.
Meanwhile, Benjamin Musyoka of Diguna secured the Top Scorer award.
Benard Mang’oli leads referees’ awards
The FKF Nairobi West Branch also celebrated outstanding match officials for their contribution throughout the season.
Benard Mang’oli took the Best Centre Referee award following an impressive campaign.
The honour capped a memorable season for Mang’oli, who also achieved a major career milestone after earning promotion to the FIFA referees’ list.
Meanwhile, Evans Ogeto claimed the Best Assistant Referee 1 award, while Linda Juma took home the Best Assistant Referee 2 honour.
Geofferey Angole completed the referees’ awards after receiving the Best Appointing Referee honour for his work during the season.
The awards highlighted the important role match officials play in maintaining standards and ensuring the smooth running of competitions across the FKF Nairobi West Branch.
For Mang’oli, his rise to FIFA level added significance to an already memorable season and provided another highlight for refereeing within the branch.
Gala celebrates Nairobi West football
The programme also included a tribute segment before the chairman delivered his remarks. Invited guests also addressed the football fraternity during the ceremony.
More importantly, the gala brought different levels of Nairobi football together under one roof.
From youth and Sub-County competitions to the County and Regional leagues, the event celebrated teams and individuals who excelled during the season.
Women’s football also enjoyed a strong presence. Thundercats and Valeo Football celebrated championship campaigns, while several female players and coaches collected individual honours.
Meanwhile, Kibagare Slums FC, Baltimore and Aston Roma joined them among the major champions of the night.
The success of teams such as Shicheonji FC, CF Vilanova, Vision Sports and Ulinzi Youth also highlighted the depth of grassroots football within the branch.
Individual awards further recognised players whose performances stood out during the campaign. Coaches also received recognition for their role in guiding teams through the season.
At the same time, the honours for Benard Mang’oli, Evans Ogeto and Linda Juma ensured match officials shared the spotlight with the players and coaches.
Ultimately, the FKF Nairobi West Gala 2026 celebrated more than trophies. It recognised the teams, players, coaches and referees driving the growth of grassroots football across the Nairobi West Branch.
