Wanyonyi Launches Loresho Police Housing Project and Opens Kibagare–Mukabi Road

By Tim Sande
September 1, 2026 4 Min Read

Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi has laid the foundation stone for 15 new houses at Loresho Police Station.

The Loresho police housing project will provide decent accommodation for officers serving at the station. In addition, Westlands NG-CDF will fund the entire construction.

Later, Wanyonyi inspected and handed over a completed section of the L37 Kibagare–Mukabi Road. Together, the two projects will improve police welfare, road connectivity and access to essential services.

The construction site for 15 self-contained police houses at Loresho Police Station. Foundation works are underway for the Westlands NG-CDF-funded project, which will provide officers with decent and dignified accommodation.

Loresho Police Officers to Get New Houses

Westlands NG-CDF will construct 15 self-contained houses within the Loresho Police Station compound.

Each unit will feature a bedroom, sitting room, kitchen, bathroom and toilet. Therefore, officers serving at Loresho Police Station will have decent homes near their workplace.

Westlands NG-CDF Committee Chairlady Frida Lenayasa said the officers deserve dignified housing.

“The police deserve decent housing. Therefore, we decided to demonstrate our commitment through action,” Lenayasa said.

She added that the Loresho officers welcomed the project. Moreover, they look forward to occupying the houses after their completion.

“The officers are happy. Consequently, they want the houses completed so that they can move in,” she said.

Better Housing Will Support Security in Loresho

Pastor Ngaira, a Westlands NG-CDF Committee member, said the houses would improve the officers’ welfare and morale.

“Our police officers will live in dignified houses. As a result, they will carry out their security duties in a better environment,” he said.

Furthermore, he noted that Westlands residents support the housing project.

Meanwhile, the Loresho Officer Commanding Station thanked Wanyonyi for initiating the construction.

“Thank you, Hon. Tim Wanyonyi, for this initiative. Keep it up,” the OCS said.

Wanyonyi Praises Loresho Police Officers

Wanyonyi acknowledged the important role that Loresho police officers play in protecting lives and property.

Furthermore, he thanked the officers and residents who protected the station’s land from grabbers. As a result, their efforts preserved it for projects that benefit the public.

“We are here to build houses for our police officers because this is public land,” Wanyonyi said.

Previously, Westlands NG-CDF constructed the new NG-CDF and Constituency Office within the same Loresho Police Station compound.

“We built our new office here. Now, we will build houses for police officers within the same compound,” he said.

Completed Kibagare–Mukabi Road Section Opened

After launching the Loresho police housing project, Wanyonyi inspected and handed over a completed section of the L37 Kibagare–Mukabi Road.

The tarmacked section measures 350 metres long and six metres wide. Notably, it passes through Kibagare and will ease movement for residents.

The road connects Loresho Ridge, Kibagare Way, Mukabi Road and Kaptagat Road. Consequently, it will improve access to homes, businesses and public facilities.

KeRRA implemented the project under Wanyonyi’s patronage. In addition, the Westlands Constituency Roads Board helped identify and supervise the project.

MP Calls for Extension of Mukabi Road

Wanyonyi said the project would not end at the completed section. Instead, he pledged to work with KeRRA to extend the road through the settlement.

“This road will not end here. We will build it through the settlement until it reaches the other end,” he said.

Furthermore, he expressed hope that KeRRA would complete the remaining sections of Mukabi Road.

In addition, Wanyonyi urged the Nairobi City County Government to install streetlights along the road. He said proper lighting would improve safety for residents and other road users.

Wanyonyi Pledges Continued Service

Finally, the MP thanked Westlands residents for electing him three times. He said he does not take their trust for granted.

“Mimi ni mjumbe wenu, na nitaendelea kufanya kazi nanyi hadi dakika ya mwisho,” Wanyonyi said.

Moreover, he encouraged residents to contact his office whenever they need assistance.

“You gave me a job, and I have worked without being lazy. Therefore, I will continue serving you until the end of my term,” he said.

Overall, Wanyonyi pledged to continue improving infrastructure and public services across Westlands Constituency.

“Tutaendelea kung’arisha Westlands na kumaliza matope,” he said.
